How To Add a Dreamy Look To Your Images

Did you ever want to add that dreamy, Fairytale look to your images, to add a little punch? To stand out from the crowd? Well, you're in the right place.😇 In this tutorial, in a few steps, we will transform your images to look like they came out of Lord of the Rings movies using the Orton effect. Let the fun begins.

Step1

First, we net to do a copy of the layer (Ctrl + J). Next, go to Image - Apply Image, on your screen you should have these setting, Layer - Merge, Channel: RGB, Blending - Multiple 

Step 2

Change the blending mode to Screen. Go to Filter - Blur - Gaussian Blur radius around 18 pixels. The radius of the pixels depends on the size of your image if the image is bigger you need to apply a bigger radius and vice versa.

Step 3

When you apply the Orton effect the highlights tend to be a little bit overexposed, but we can fix that easily. To control the highlights go to Image - Apply Image and check on Invert. Make sure that you have a layer mask on the Orton effect layer.
