How to make custom T-Shirt Mockup in Photoshop

In this tutorial, I will show you how to make a custom t-shirt template in Photoshop. You will see how easy and fun it is to create a t-shirt mockup. Let the fun begins.

I also include a free download so you can easily open the file and upload your design, and your T-shirt is ready. The file includes the wrinkles as well as shadows and the highlights so they're going to look completely realistic.

First, we need to make a selection around our actual shirts. To do that simply create a new layer, then go to Select, down to Color Range, and then we can select the color range that is blue in the T-Shirts.

While the selection is active, create the Hue/Saturation Adjustment layer. This way you are able to adjust your Hue/Saturation and Lightness, it's only going to be visible where the t-shirts are.

The next part is a little more tricky because the design of the shirt we want to be affected by the highlights and the shadows and also the wrinkles of the shirt. If you hold down Ctrl and click on the hue/saturation layer thumbnail to make a selection of the t-shirt active, then create a new layer. Pic a random color and with the brush tool paint in the selection. Now that we have a t-shirt on its own layer, right-click a select convert to the Smart Object.

As a Smart Object, we can use smart filters like the Liquify filter. The Liquify filter applies to the smart object but you can change what's inside of the smart object at any time. Lover the opacity of the layer to about 50-60% so we can see wrinkles from the shirts. Go to Filter - Liquify. In the Liquify filter click on Show Backdrop so you can see the wrinkles in the shirt actually look like. Then by using the Forward Warp Tool just wrinkle, move the shirt with actual wrinkles in the background. So basically following each individual wrinkle.

And that's it, we have our own design. All you have to do is double-click on the smart object itself, and this will open another window where you can add text, a logo design, or even a photo. Click on Save in the File menu and it will automatically update on the t-shirt.

And this is how you can easily and quickly make a custom t-shirt template. Thanks for reading the article I hope you liked it, and we’ll read on in the next one. 😀😀
